Obituary
Kimberly K. “Kim” Mason, age 54 years, of Hoisington, Kansas, passed away on Friday morning, December 6, 2019 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend, Kansas after a lengthy illness. Kim was born on May 26, 1965 at Larned, Kansas to Ronald J. and Josephine E. (Harr) Stiles. She grew up in Great Bend and spent her whole life in the Great Bend area. Kim worked as Head Cake Decorator in the Bakery Department at Dillons on West 10th Street in Great Bend for many years until health issues forced her to retire in 2013. Kim loved reading Ann Rice and Stephen King novels, riding motorcycles, and was an avid collector of fairies and panda bears. One of the things Kim loved most was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: Jeffery Newsome of Portales, New Mexico and Joshua Newsome (and his companion, April Trantham) of Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters: Jenna Boden (and her companion, Joseph Miller) and Jessica (and her husband, Joshua) Jordan both of Hoisington, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; her father, Ronald J. Stiles of Kinsley, Kansas and her mother, Josephine E. Stiles of Salina, Kansas; one brother, Dustin Stiles of Great Bend, Kansas; and her companion, Kenny Beakey of Great Bend, Kansas. Kim was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Newsome and one brother, Darin Stiles.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, Kansas with cremation to follow. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kim’s life is being planned for a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Kim Mason Funeral Expense Fund.
